Carmen Vazquez is a spanish-born,
“parisian-raised”,“Melbourne-shaped” funkiness obsessed food journalist, social media manager and copywriter.

Her career unexpectedly took off in 2015, when she joined Très Très Bon, her favourite French food TV show. Since then, she’s moved between television, print, digital media and brand storytelling, following her appetite for good stories and an ever-growing hunger to see the world.

Her work has appeared in French print, digital and TV media including Vivre Paris, Paris Vous Aime,
Konbini Food, Canal+, Mint Magazine, À Nous Paris, L’Express, Direction Espagne and Tapage Mag,

among many others.
As a trilingual writer, she has also contributed to Spanish digital media such as Plate Selector and international English-language trade publications such as Food Service International.

Beyond journalism, Carmen is a multihyphenated creative working across editorial and video storytelling, content creation and communication strategy. Equally at home with a pen in hand or behind a camera, she moves seamlessly between writing, filming, developing creative concepts and directing video campaigns.

Her work also encompasses social media strategy, copywriting, brand image, creative partnerships and integrated campaigns, bringing together a journalist’s instinct for a compelling story, a creator’s eye for visual narratives and a strategist’s understanding of brand building.

From 2023 to 2026, Carmen was Communications & Marketing Manager at French brasserie group
La Nouvelle Garde, where she brought together brand strategy, content creation and global communications across the group’s 10 restaurants.

When she’s not writing or eating, she’s probably discussing the funkiness of the orange wine swirling in her glass at one of her favourite Parisian wine bars or flying somewhere like Bali or Melbourne on her own to funk up her daily life a little.

You can also find her personal words on her very funky newsletter on substack, Funky Carmen.

Journalism Work

Journalism Work 〰️

My first official article was published on french website ParisBouge.com in june 2015 and my first printed article on french weekly printed newspaper l’Express three months later.

I remember the excitement hitting me every time I could spot my name followed by words and lines and paragraphs and pictures describing my very own experiences in restaurants on a printed paper.

It’s a feeling I will never forget and always will hold on to
because the excitement has never left me ever since.
8 years later, I keep on feeling the same excitement hitting off when getting my hands on the last publication I’ve been lucky to collaborate with.
